Work in a Teams workspace
Create a shared workspace, invite members, use owner/editor/viewer roles, and switch safely between personal and team data.
Understand the workspace boundary
Teams is a separately billed shared workspace. Shared links, campaigns, analytics, namespaces, domain mappings, brand settings, and the shared quota belong to the team workspace. Each member keeps a separate login and can keep a personal workspace and personal subscription.
- A Teams workspace supports up to 5 total members, including the owner, with no per-seat overage behavior.
- Personal Profiles, Smart Paste, personal AI connections, and other personal-workspace features stay in the member's personal workspace unless the product explicitly says otherwise.
- Team analytics and campaign reports use the team workspace context, so check the workspace before reading or changing data.
Create a team and invite members
- Open Settings and select the team workspace area. From your personal workspace, enter a Team name and select Create team. Creating the workspace does not charge you.
- The owner starts Teams billing separately after the workspace exists. Until billing is active, the team workspace is inactive and cannot create links.
- As the owner, open Invite members, enter the invited person's email, choose Editor or Viewer, and select Create invite link.
- Send the invite URL to the invited person. They must sign in with a verified Clerk email that matches the invitation, then accept it from Settings.
- Use Pending invitations to revoke an unused invite. Invite links expire after 7 days.
Roles and best practices
- Owner: manages billing, team name, invitations, roles, and member removal. The owner cannot be removed, demoted, or replaced.
- Editor: can work with shared resources when the Teams subscription is active, but cannot manage billing or team membership settings reserved for the owner.
- Viewer: has read-only team access. Viewer writes are blocked even when the workspace is active.
- Editors and viewers can leave the team. Ownership transfer and team deletion are not available in the current UI.
Switch workspace before you act
- Use the Workspace selector in the dashboard header.
- Choose Personal or the named team workspace. The selected workspace is remembered for your account.
- Confirm the workspace name and role before creating a link, opening Campaigns, changing analytics settings, or managing billing.
- Return to Personal when you need personal Profile, Smart Paste, personal AI, or personal subscription settings.
Troubleshooting
- The team is missing from the selector: refresh membership, confirm the invite was accepted with the invited verified email, and check that you were not removed.
- You can view but not edit: confirm your role is Editor or Owner and that the Teams subscription is active.
- Inviting is disabled: only the owner can invite, the workspace must be active, and all 5 seats including pending reservations must not be occupied.
- Billing controls are missing: only the team owner can manage the separate Teams subscription.
